Last night I saw the season finale of The Wire.
As I've said before, it's the best show on TV. This season just proved the point.
Basically this season was about a group of children growing up in Baltimore. Schools, drug culture, parenting, cops , and crime are play their part in 'raising' them. The final episode basically shows how things end up for the kids.
I'm sure they will revisit them next season, but for now the die are cast. I won't spoil things, but as I thought early in the season, the story line was about the kids, specifically the future of Michael.
I really would not have predicted this ending to the storyline. In fact, I would have predicted the opposite.
Omar continues as my favorite character as the shotgun weilding, super-saavy, gay, rip and run artist that is always one step ahead of everyone else. I especially love that he always pays for things, except for the drugs or money he steals.
Cutty is a close runner up as the man that finds his way out of the loop and tries to help others. Seeing he and Bunny Colvin together trying to help is about as good as it gets. And when Weebay and Bunny talk in prison about Namond, that's the Emmy award right there.
I could go on and on, but for my Wire peeps, it's about a year until Season Five. A long ass year, IMHO.
Rome will be good, as will the Sorpranos, but it may be time for me to pick up the season one DVDs and start over from the beginning.
If you ain't one of my Wire peeps, WTF is wrong with you. It's the best show on TV. Get to watching.
If you came with a warning label, what would it say?

Danger: Will argue with you
I am in a foul mood today.
Any vendors that call me today had better be wearing their nomex.
Perhaps I should not be at work today.
This track is the band The Automatic covering Kanye West's song Golddigger. Maybe it's just me, but I think this is fantastic. Take a listen.
Thanks to wonderful Cousin James, we have a Wii.
It's a great product and the girls loved it immediately. Good fun for everyone.
I'm watching Ben speak about Vox and the concepts behind Open Media at the Web 2.0 conference.
This is a long way from the days when I paypalled the Trotts $20 and the password to my server for Ben to install MovableType for me.
My phonecam sucks, so no photo.
Update: Well, I got a photo, but it's not great.
